Elizabeth Maud Dwyer is a writer, performer, and producer based in Albuquerque, NM.
While earning her screenwriting MFA, Elizabeth hugged "My So Called Life" creator Winnie Holzman and was mysteriously imbued with heightened storytelling prowess.
Now a flourishing Stowe Story Labs Launch Fellow, ISA FastTrack Finalist, WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Finalist, George R.R. Martin Screenwriting Grant Finalist, LA International Screenwriting Awards Semifinalist, and Moonshot Pilot Accelerator Semifinalist, Elizabeth can and will tell any love story thrown her way. She'll let it hit her right in the face, slather it over her skin, and let it marinate until the magic pours out of her fingers onto the page. It can be messy, but she gets the job done!
The Blacklist says Elizabeth’s "dialogue sparkles." Her writing "has a little something for everybody" and is "smart...beautiful and charming", "tonally sharp and atmospheric", and her personal favorite, "hilariously awkward.”
These qualities also landed Elizabeth’s scripts on two cherished Top lists: the Issa Rae/Paul Feig Teen Movie Contest Top 8 and Table Read My Screenplay Top 10.
She earned her MFA in TV & Screenwriting from Stephens College, wrote and co-produced two award-winning short films, Imagining Vera and Pinky Promise, and two of her essays were published in the collection "When Women Wrote Hollywood: Essays on Female Screenwriters in the Early Film Industry" (MacFarland, 2018).
Elizabeth is here to make some good trouble (© Rep. John Lewis, RIP) on the page, and within her creative community she engages in ongoing, essential dialogue around who gets to tell which stories, and uplifting historically excluded voices. Her writing is a superpower, and with great power comes great responsibility. (#spiderman)
